How much does artificial turf installation cost in Orange County?

Most residential installs run $12–$20 per square foot, all-in: demolition, compacted base, drainage, turf, and infill. Typical full-yard projects land between $8,000 and $25,000. We provide a written, itemized quote after a free on-site measurement.

Will artificial turf really cut my water bill?

Yes — outdoor irrigation is usually an OC home's biggest water use, and a 1,000 sq ft lawn can drink 30,000+ gallons a year. Turf eliminates that entirely, plus the cost of mowing, fertilizing, and reseeding. Southern California water agencies have also periodically offered turf-replacement rebates — check current programs.

Is artificial turf safe for dogs?

Pet-specific systems are made for it: fully permeable backing drains urine straight through, fibers resist digging, and a hose rinse handles odor. No dead spots, no mud. Ask for lead-free, PFAS-free products if kids and pets share the yard.

Does artificial turf get too hot in summer?

Turf warms up in direct sun like any surface. Lighter blade colors, heat-reflective infill options, shade sails or plantings, and a quick rinse all help. If heat is a top concern, tell us during the estimate and we'll spec accordingly.

How does artificial turf handle rain and drainage?

Properly installed turf drains better than a compacted lawn: a graded aggregate base plus permeable backing moves OC's winter downpours through the system. Standing water after an install means the base was done wrong — which is why base prep is the most important part of the job.

How long does artificial turf last?

A quality residential install in Southern California typically lasts 15–20 years with basic care. Putting greens and high-traffic commercial areas use denser products spec'd for their use.

What maintenance does artificial turf need?

Rinse dusty or pet areas periodically, brush high-traffic spots upright now and then, clear leaves, and top up infill every few years. No mowing, fertilizing, aerating, or overseeding — ever.

Will my HOA allow artificial turf?

Many Orange County HOAs — especially in Irvine and master-planned communities — allow turf that meets their color and reflectivity guidelines. We provide product samples and spec sheets for your architectural review submittal.

Can turf be installed on slopes or over concrete?

Slopes: yes, with proper anchoring and base work — turf actually stops slope erosion. Over concrete: sometimes, with drainage and padding, but removal is often the better call. We evaluate honestly during the free estimate.

Does artificial turf look fake?

Cheap turf does. Modern multi-tone products with varied blade heights and a thatch layer read as real grass from the sidewalk. We bring full-size samples to your estimate so you can see and feel the difference before you decide.
